BIOGRAPHY

Sarah Young was attracted to screenprinting by the creative possibilities that can come from using photographic images and the light sensitive stencil technique.  She has been enjoying the range of results that can be created using screen printing, Toyobo and cyanotype printing techniques. She has long been interested in photography and is particularly inspired by landscape photography and images of the natural world. 

The starting point in her work is the experience of being out in nature in an inspiring environment. She then enjoys the process of evolving the captured images into artworks through manipulation of the image digitally and with the chosen printing process in the studio. Experimenting with colour and light helps to develop the mood and atmosphere she wants to convey.
