Kouki Tsuritani

His work combines the philosophy of traditional Japanese art (such as Ukiyoe, which means “Floating world”) and traditional European print technique. His prints, black and white mezzotint, reflect inner views of the people who live in a “floating” modern world.

Kouki Tsuritani is a printmaker born in Tokyo, Japan in 1967. He trained at Kanazawa College of Art, Kanazawa, Japan. His work has been exhibited both in Japan and International exhibitions. He is currently working on a project at Edinburgh Printmakers on a Japanese Government Overseas Fellowship Programme For Artist.
