During the lockdown we have been working hard behind the scenes to digitise our extensive archive of prints amassed over more than 50 years of printmaking in our studio. Our archive now contains over 600 editions and folios made by 200 different artists, many printed long before digitisation became standard practice.
We know how important it is to be able to see a work of art closeup in detail before making a purchase. By meticulously scanning each print we ensure that all our images are in high-resolution with accurate colours to help you with your buying decision. Our online sales platform also allows you to ‘View on a Wall’, to see the print at scale in a domestic setting and envision it in your own home.
Established in 1967 as the first open-access printmaking studio in Britain, Edinburgh Printmakers remains one of the largest open access studios in Europe today. As such we have worked with a huge range of artists over the years, from established artists such as Alan Davie and Sandy Moffat through to young graduates just at the beginning of their careers. This selection represents the breadth of our collaborations and commissions over this period, including both one-off commissions as well as work from prolific printmakers who worked extensively in the studio for many years.
This viewing room heralds the opening of our new online shop, which we hope you will enjoy exploring.
