This exhibition showcases the breadth of Alastair Clark’s printmaking practice, exhibited across two spaces, as an artist and Edinburgh Printmakers Studio Director, a post he has held since 2014. Printmaking has always been at the centre of his practice, and 2022 marks Clark’s 30th year working for Edinburgh Printmakers. Showing in The Rear Window and café spaces, we present a selection of his own works spanning the past thirty years, and a showcase of works from the 300+ print editions Clark has printed collaborating with artists as part of Edinburgh Printmakers print publishing programme.
Clark has led the studio for the past 16 years, as Assistant Director and Studio Director, following 3 years as Studio Coordinator and 11 years as Lithography Technician at EP. During this time, Clark has managed the studio team to run the Open Access print studio, led the print studio's Education and Print publishing programmes and remains hands on, teaching lithography and working directly with artists.
In 2023 Clark will take up a new role as Head of Editions for Edinburgh Printmakers with a focus on print projects, editions and lithography support. This will include national and international artist projects as well as ongoing support and teaching to our members.
