900 Stories in Print Final Event: Part of City of Edinburgh Council Edinburgh900 celebrations
Castle Mills: Then & Now | 900 Stories in Print is a placemaking project supported by the City of Edinburgh Council with the aim to capture and publish 900 personal histories, recollections, anecdotes engaging with communities in Fountainbridge and the west of Edinburgh.
Over the course of the last year, we have delivered free weekly creative sessions, which aimed at creating a safe space for people from our local communities to gather, employ different creative techniques, and share anecdotes, personal histories and hopes connected to the Fountainbridge area and West of Edinburgh.
Join us on Saturday 30th August for a final event to celebrate the work, stories and creativity we shared.
The day programme includes:
-
All day | 900 Stories in Print exhibition in the Rear Window gallery, curated by participants from the weekly sessions. See a sneak preview of the exhibition here.
-
10am-12pm in the Learning Studio | Collaborative Drypoint Print Workshop led by Elena, Miedina and Jude who took part in the free weekly sessions.
-
2pm-4pm in the Learning Studio | Creative Writing Workshop led by Kellie, Debs and Thelma who took part in the free weekly sessions.
-
4.30pm in the KUBA Cafe | Launch of the newly commissioned limited edition fine art print by artist Tess Glen, who was inspired by the many stories submitted throughout the year. The print will then be available for sale from the EP Shop.
