Biography
"My practice as a printmaker centres around stone lithography where I enjoy benefiting from the painterly possibilities of the medium, the process itself and the decisions and choices to be made, the layering of the colours and the magical moment peeling the paper from the stone. I also appreciate the opportunity stone lithography provides to create and sometimes to re-think the image as the print progresses."

BIOGRAPHY

A graduate of Edinburgh College of Art, specialising in Drawing and Painting with experience of etching, I have been a member of EP for around 25 years.

I have been fortunate to be included in two EP portfolios, “Interactions Folio” a stone lithography folio in 2003 and the 50th Anniversary “Paper to Gold Folio” in 2017.

In 2004 I held a solo exhibition in EP “Cycladic Pigeon Houses”, developed around the sculptural monolithic and dovecotes of the Aegean islands. This recurring theme in my practice with the interest in ancient and traditional stone structures also provided centre pieces for further solo exhibitions at the Hellenic Centre, London in 2006 (Peristerionas, Dovecotes of the Cycladic Islands), The Old Custom House, Loggos Paxos, Greece in 2009 (Stone, Sea, Olive) and at the Habitart Centre, Tinos, Greece in 2014 (The Stone and the Dove).

As a member of an artist run print studio in Ceret, France I have participated in group shows in various galleries in that part of southern France. I have been a council member of the SSA and VAS and I am a professional member of both societies. As a member of the society of Scottish Artists I have also been awarded The Eichstatt Lithography Residency in Eichstatt, Germany.
