Biography
The Golden Lion , 2025
Iona DeSouza works as an illustrator and printmaker based in the UK. Her work focuses on storytelling that sheds light on the everyday nuances and values of societies different to our own. By exploring her own Indian heritage or by spending time in other countries, DeSouza collecs pockets of inspiration, piecing them together like a collage. Predominantly working in screenprint but occasionally mixing print processes together, DeSouza aims to create bold and vibrant prints that lift spirits. DeSouza wishes to celebrate and give narratives to the wide and complex diversity of this world, whilst having fun with the process and overall imagery.
