John Grey
BIOGRAPHY
John moved to Midlothian in 2022 from North East England where he had been printmaking for eight years after leaving full time work as a University Lecturer.
Originally building on an interest in traditional film photography, John's earliest printmaking made use of a photoetching process using aluminium and steel plates.
Since 2016 John has been developing work based on his drawings and sketches which make use of traditional aquatint etching processes using brass and copper plates. This has allowed a more impressionistic approach to his landscape and architectural etchings which he is continuing to develop, inspired by his new home in Scotland.
