Antony Reznik

Cork Printmakers / Residency, 5 Aug 2022

During his residency at Cork Printmakers, Antony created a story of how traumatic experiences influence the perception of reality, and how this reality becomes distorted and transformed under the pressure of fear and panic.

 

He also delivered two printmaking workshops with North Monastery Primary School and two workshops with St Columba's GNS Douglas.

Antony Reznik is an artist from Ukraine, currently living in Berlin due to the ongoing war in Ukraine. He was a teacher and participant of group exhibitions at the Aza Nizi Maza studio in Kharkiv, Ukraine, where he created numerous artistic projects.

 

Antony is also a co-author of a series of posters for the course Slow Art History. He had his first European show in 2020, when his work was featured in the group exhibition The Kiss—Darkness and Light at Gallery Different in London. Between 2017 -2020 Antony focused on a comic project called Nearmint. In 2021 it was published in Kharkiv and Kyiv, and presented at Comic-Con in Kyiv, garnering a lot of attention with a positive reception by critics and the public. The first solo exhibition of Nearmint was in the Naked Room Gallery in Kyiv, in 2021. The comic went on to be nominated for the Best Comics 2021 category at the 28th Book Forum Awards in Lviv, Ukraine. In April 2022 Antony took part in the 59th Venice Biennale.
