Join us for a series of online talks connecting Edinburgh to 5 printmaking studios all over the world: Funen Printmaking Workshop in Odense, Denmark; Kinngait Studios in Nunavut, Canada; Powerhouse Arts in New York City, USA; Fondazione il Bisonte, Florence, Italy; and Spike Print Studio in Bristol, UK.
This programme of talks aims to build our relationships with similar printmaking studios around the world. Invited representatives of each studio, as well as artist members, students or collaborators will give a talk and introduce their organisation, work, projects and facilities to an international audience of creative printmakers.
The Art of Printmaking International online conversations will create a virtual space for sharing in our passion for advancing printmaking, sustaining communities and contributing to the cultural life of our countries.
The third talk will be on Thursday 23rd January 2025 from 5pm to 7pm (GMT) with Powerhouse Arts, New York, USA.

Powerhouse Arts
Part of Powerhouse Arts, Manhattan Graphics Center supports the learning and practice of fine art printmaking by providing an affordable, inclusive, professional studio and exhibition space, where a community of printmakers at all stages of artistic development can create and present their work. To encourage greater appreciation of printmaking, we offer public programs, including: classes in traditional and experimental techniques; fellowships; artist talks; and outreach to public school students; as well as exhibitions including member, curated, and exchange shows. Upon our official relaunch at Powerhouse Arts, MGC became the largest community print studio in Brooklyn. As the community counterpart to PHA’s professional collaborative print shop, MGC Community Print Studio complements PHA’s existing fabrication services and also serve as a teaching and learning lab, adding facilities and expert practitioners in intaglio, relief, and lithography processes, as well as screen printing. In this new chapter we are joining an expanded creative ecosystem, while staying true to our roots as a dynamic, affordable community studio.
