Decades Unwrapped: 1960s: Richard Demarco

12 Feb 2026
Overview
18:30 - 19:30
Join us for this new series of talks building on Edinburgh Printmakers' successful 'Unwrapped' series exploring works and stories from the Permanent Collection.

In this event, curator and artist Richard Demarco CBE joins Edinburgh Printmakers Chief Executive Janet Archer to explore his influence on the 1960s Edinburgh arts scene from which EP was born.

Demarco was co-founder of the Traverse Theatre in Edinburgh in 1963. Three years later he and other organisers of the gallery space left the Traverse to establish what became the Richard Demarco Gallery. For many years, the Gallery promoted cross-cultural links, both in terms of presenting artists such as Marina Abramovic within Scotland and in establishing outgoing connections for Scottish artists across Europe.

This event can be attended in-person or online. Tickets are £5, please book here.
