Visual Description Tour of Hall of Hours: Public Programme connected to 'Hall of Hours'

22 Oct 2025
Overview

As part of our public programming connected to Robert Powell’s exhibition Hall of Hours, we are planning an audio descriptive tour for blind and partially sighted audience.

Join us on Wednesday 22nd October at 12pm for a visual description tour led by visually impaired artist and writer Debs Lobo who will provide a detailed description of the main installation and some of the other prints on display.

The textures, feel and sounds of the exhibition will be explored aided by tactile features and materials from the Print Studio. Artist Robert Powell will also be present to support and share more in-depth information about his research on Time and intaglio printmaking process.

The tours will also include participation in the Bell Ringing Ceremony at 12pm.

Robert Powell's Hall of Hours is supported by New Media Scotland, and is a new body of work that expands on the themes contained within a previous work, Chronoscope, an animated clock originally created for the refurbished Music Hall in Aberdeen and supported by Aberdeen Performing Arts and New Media Scotland's Alt-w Fund with investment from Creative Scotland in 2022.

Learn more about the stories, reflections and literature related to the perception and visualisation of time, by listening to our recorded In Conversation Event with Robert Powell and Dr Alasdair Richmond, from the School of Philosophy at Edinburgh University.
