Doors Open Day

24 - 25 Sep 2022

Join us on Saturday 24th and Sunday 25th September from 10am to 6pm to explore Edinburgh Printmakers and learn more about the rich heritage of our building, local area, and the practice of printmaking.

Access to Edinburgh Printmakers is free and open to all, though full tours of the building will need to be booked in advance – these are free of charge and provide a special opportunity to explore our heritage building, printmaking studio, archive and collections. Availability for these tours on the day will be dependent on capacity.

Join us in our Learning Studio for some printmaking demonstrations, or sit down with some of our members on Saturday afternoon to hear more about their experience in this remarkable building.

Edinburgh Printmakers is located in Castle Mills in the Fountainbridge area of Edinburgh. Constructed in the 1850s, this remarkable building has withstood several fires and dereliction. From a silk mill to a rubber factory and brewery complex to a printmaking studio, the building has seen a wealth of change from heavy industry through to contemporary creative arts. Join us during Doors Open Days to learn more about its fascinating history, setting, and its place as a centre for a creative community today.

Our onsite cafe, Holy Cow Lounge, will also be running a special coffee and cake offer this weekend only!
