Peter Twiddy
Image size: 38 x 28 cm
When Twiddy received the invitation to take part in the Members Print Exchange, his first thought was "what do I do now?" "and...?" - which prompted thoughts of the ampersand.
When Twiddy looked into the ampersand, there were lots of different shapes that represented the same thing.
"It sounded quite exotic to me, ampersand, like something on the Silk Road. But actually, ampersane comes from the fact that it was the 27th letter of the alphabet. I found that quite interesting and thought maybe I could do something with my 'and...?' so that's what I did."
"Ampersand started as 'et', the Latin for 'and', and if you look a lot of them look like an 'et'. And in my signature I've written 'P&&' - Pete. T."
