'A String of Hearts' is about the comfort of quiet moments. It is about catching a moment of love in a mirror, the joy of finding two 19th century photographs containing the same dog, the way my string of hearts plant grows and grows so happily , and small gifts from friends that become more and more significant as time passes. My paper-cut foxes smiling at one another. The constancy of love and its comfort.
Objects of personal significance to me feature in my work alongside images of foxes, who represent my creative force. I fell in love with
etching in my student days at Edinburgh College of Art, and over twenty years later it continues to fascinate me.
