Ingrid Bell
As an artist Bell's subject matter has been influenced by living with and in different cultures. Recently she has been exploring an idea around Scottish grasses connecting to the land she lives on and East European folk flower art which is part of her cultural heritage.
She explores through the use of mixed media as this plays an important role in the concept and design of each envisioned piece, determining the completed work.
Her principle choice of media lies predominantly within printmaking techniques for its natural propensity towards layering. This layering for her is akin to an embodied sense of multiple experiences.
