Doreen Boogert is an artist printmaker who has drawn and painted for most of her life. She also attended evening classes at Edinburgh College of Art, as well as many other courses and summer schools.
A couple of tutors she had during summer schools introduced her to printmaking. She has done courses on etching, screenprinting and linocut. Monotypes have always been a great love and have been her preferred choice over the last few years.
She has visited many galleries in her lifetime and has found most painters have used printmaking at some time as a practice. She is particularly drawn to Spanish and French printmakers around the 60/70s. British printmakers of around the same time also left a big impression on her. When she gets a chance to visit a gallery she always hopes there is some printmaking to be seen!
