A copperplate intaglio print pressed from an etching of this size is a labour of love. A long jouney started in the library on Holy Isle, gazing out across the water to Arran and sketching the passing weather. Then using a mirror to invert the sketch, etching it into the copperplate. Texture was then built up into the copper using botanical and geographical scraps collected on Holy Isle, followed by sugarlift, aquatint and burnishing. It then ended its jouney as handtorn high quality soaked paper on the inked up copperplate under a EP printing press.
