I am an artist printmaker currently based in Edinburgh, originally from Buenos Aires, Argentina. I was very creative as a child. I intuitively explored all sorts of materials to make art and crafts. I pursued formal training at the National University of Arts in Buenos Aires where I found an unforeseen love for drawing, life-drawing and printmaking. I soon decided to take a different path and studied Biology. I am now a full-time Molecular Biology researcher.
I buried my creativity for a long time, but it started to boil when my son was born a decade ago. Living in a small flat with a toddler, I decided that the best way to address my creative desire was to buy some pencils and to start drawing again. My love for printmaking resurfaced. I joined life-drawing and printmaking courses. I finally found in the Edinburgh Printmakers studio the perfect place to explore my creativity. There are rigour, logical thinking and protocols, things I can relate to given my day-to-day work in a research lab. This is the right framework for me to thrive.
I am currently focused on etching. I just love the line and the depth of the aquatint. I find inspiration all around me, any time and in the time in between stuff.
