I am a Japanese artist and designer living and working in Scotland. As a migrant, my journey has been shaped by movement, adaptation, and curiosity, all of which inform
my creative practice. My work often explores simple forms and playful imagery, inspired by nature, daily life, and the small moments that connect us.
Printmaking has become central to my practice. Not just as a way of making, but as a way of belonging. When I first began printing, I was met with generosity and warmth. That welcome made me feel at home in a new place, and through printmaking, I discovered that art is as much about community as it is about the image. Each print carries traces of process, patience, and touch. Qualities that invite sharing and conversation.
For me, printmaking matters because it connects people. The workshop is a space where skills are exchanged, ideas grow together, and friendships form. I cherish the balance of tradition and experimentation in print, and how it can be both personal and collective. My hope is that my prints carry this spirit, a quiet reminder of care, connection, and the joy of creating together.
