Lindsay Hutchison
"What I enjoy most about printmaking is being immersed in the process. There is so much scope for experimenting and learning new techniques, with each suggesting new approaches to making images. "
"Making prints is a chance for me to express myself, think things through visually, and reflect."
After studying Drawing and Painting at Edinburgh College of Art Lindsay Hutchison went on to work in art galleries, retail, as a ceramics technician, and art facilitator.
Recently she rediscovered printmaking through attending short courses at EP, and a year long programme at Leith School of Art. She has worked in monoprint, relief, collagraph and most recently screenprint.
Her recent screen prints started with photographs she has taken of people, objects, and places which she has a personal connection with. She combines hand painted elements with these photographic images and layered colour to create a mood and enhance the image.
