Rhona Taylor
Rhona Taylor is a multi-disciplinary artist based in Edinburgh, with a practice that includes printmaking as well as painting, site-specific installation and sculpture.
She studied Painting at Edinburgh College of Art, graduating in 2013. Her work has been exhibited in public and commercial galleries in Scotland, the rest of the UK and internationally. She is a member of the Scottish Contemporary Art Network, Society of Scottish Artists and Visual Arts Scotland. She has also undertaken several residencies in Scotland and abroad, most recently at SÍM, the Association of Icelandic Visual Artists.
Rhona Taylor uses colour, light and surface – often combining and layering materials – to create abstract compositions, and to explore the relationship between two and three dimensions. Much of her work is concerned with pattern, repetition and line, as well as time, mapping and the navigation of space. Her site-specific installations often respond to, physically interact with and manipulate different spaces, while her paintings and prints explore the reading of the two-dimensional surface
