Biography
Travel Magic, 2026
With a lifelong passion for art and printmaking technologies, an extensive collection of historic etchings and engravings accumulated over decades, as well as more than 20 years of working in the print-publishing industry - in 2018 Anja Salinger-Carsley finally started classes in printmaking and has been hooked on creating her own work ever since. She has experimented with reduction and jigsaw woodcut and linocut, has tried wood engraving and most recently zinc and copperplate etching and also aquatint - having discovered a total passion for etching in the process.
She finds herself drawn to the relationship between humans and their pets, in particular cats and dogs, as well as to fairies and the magic in everyday life. Born in Germany, Anja holds dual citizenship and has lived in Edinburgh for the biggest part of her life now. She shares her life with her son, her partner Laura, 3 Ragdoll cats and many wonderful friends.
