Jean Gillespie
Jean Gillespie works with traditional media and new technology, writing poetry, making prints, drawings and sound installations along with painting and photography.
Printmaking is an important part of her practice, as through it she has the technical skills that enable her to plan and prepare to create a series of works. Her work uses patterns and marks from nature to engage viewers with images as poetic spaces. She tries to impart a mediative quality, locating an otherworldliness in the marks which hint at our own fragile world.
