Dilys Rose
BIOGRAPHY
Dilys Rose was born and brought up in Glasgow but has lived in Edinburgh for many years. She is a fiction writer, poet and printmaker. She has published twelve books, most recently Sea Fret (2022), and has enjoyed creative collaborations with painters, composers and scientists, which resulted in various publicatons and performances. Earlier this year, Dilys ‘collaborated with herself’ on a series of small etchings, presented alongside handwritten copies of the poems which prompted the prints. Her artwork has been included in various group shows, most recently Visual Arts Scotland’s centenary exhibition, Now and Then, and the Society of Scottish Artists’ Annual Exhibition 2024. Since giving up her day job ― teaching creative writing to postgraduate students ― she divides her time between words and images. For Dilys, making art of any kind involves a process of discovery, and printmaking offers many possibilities and surprises.
