Sarah Young

Sarah Young was attracted to screenprinting by the creative possibilities that can come from using photographic images and the light sensitive stencil technique.  She is still fairly new to it and is enjoying the learning process and trying out different techniques. She has long been interested in photography and is particularly inspired by landscape photography and images of the natural world.

The starting point in her work is the experience of being out in nature in an inspiring environment. She then enjoys the process of evolving the captured images into screenprints through manipulation of the image digitally and in the studio, and playing with colour and light.
