Lawrence Nowosad
BIOGRAPHY
Born in Edinburgh and a member of the Edinburgh Printmakers since 2011, Lawrence Nowosad has been interested in a mixed media working process for a number of years, initially combining photography and video in his first course of study at Napier University. Augmenting these skills with animation, illustration and graphic design led to achieving a Masters in Multimedia.
He has contributed work to a number of Edinburgh Printmakers group shows including the Actinic show in 2015. He has had solo exhibitions in Edinburgh and Amsterdam. He has worked as an Art & Design lecturer in a number of colleges in Edinburgh and Lothians.
His current work draws on classical motifs. Using still life objects and figurative work as a starting point, he incorporates contemporary elements to convey a time of flux and transition. This art practice generally begins with photographic capture, merging images from a multiple of different sources. Digital drawing is utilised to blend, corrode and distract as required.
