Lawrence Nowosad
BIOGRAPHY
Born in Edinburgh and a member of the Edinburgh Printmakers since 2011, Lawence Nowosad has been interested in mixed media working since combining photography and video in his first course of study at Napier University. Blending these skills commercially with animation and graphic design led to studying for a Masters in Multimedia. Nowasad currently works as an Art & Design lecturer at Edinburgh College.
He has contributed work to Edinburgh Printmakers group exhibitions at the Actinic show in 2015 and at the Coburg Studios in 2011. He has had solo exhibitions in Edinburgh and Amsterdam.
His current work draws on classical motifs, using still life objects and figurative work as a starting point combined with contemporary elements to convey a period of flux and transition. This art practice generally begins with photographic capture. It incorporates images from several different sources. Digital drawing is utilized to blend, corrode and distract as required.
