Anne Forte
BIOGRAPHY
Anne Forte graduated with a BA (Hons) in Drawing and Painting from Edinburgh College of Art in 1981, and more recently completed an BA in Art History. After a post-graduate degree in art teaching at Moray House college of Education, she was an art teacher in schools and colleges until she retired to concentrate on her development as a painter and printmaker.
Her special interest in printmaking is the versatile medium of screenprint. Sometimes her prints can have up to twenty layers of translucent ink, resulting in rich colour effects. Subjects which have interested her over the past few years are the current world problems of climate change, and isolation during the pandemic. Usually her prints are full of figurative and colourful images, but her recent work is more sombre and monochrome, perhaps reflecting the times we are living in.
