Anne Forte
BIOGRAPHY
I graduated with a BA (Hons) in Drawing and Painting from Edinburgh College of Art in 1981, and more recently completed an BA in Art History. After a post-graduate degree in art teaching at Moray House college of Education, I was an art teacher in schools and colleges until I retired to concentrate on my development as a painter and printmaker.
My special interest in printmaking is the versatile medium of screenprint. Sometimes my prints can have up to twenty layers of translucent ink, resulting in rich colour effects. Subjects which have interested me over the past few years are the current world problems of climate change, and isolation during the pandemic. Usually, my prints are full of figurative and colourful images, but this recent work is more sombre and monochrome, perhaps reflecting the times we are living in.
