From 1894 the Castle Mills building at Gilmore Park was the headquarters and registered office of the North British Rubber Company. Though it has been transformed as the new home of Edinburgh Printmakers, its industrial history and impact on the Fountainbridge area has not been forgotten.

 

In advance of Edinburgh Printmaker's move to the building in 2019, the team researched and collected fragments of industrial history as well as oral histories from those who lived and worked in the area. Enjoy listening to the history and stories in the audio files below.
