EP Editions: Prints for Sale

Beautiful prints for sale from our exhibiting artists Tessa Lynch and Nadia Myre

The artists currently exhibiting at EP, Tessa Lynch and Nadia Myre, were invited to work in the EP studio and explore creating new works using printmaking. The artists were supported by working with printmakers who advise on creative routes, discuss starting points, pros and cons of different processes and work closely with the artists throughout the creation and production of the print. In this case, Alastair Clark worked with Nadia Myre to produce a lithograph- Were You to Pick a Star to Marry?, while James Harrison worked with Tessa Lynch to produce a screenprint- Testing Ground.

Depending on the process being used the collaborating printmaker may do most or all of the processing and printing but the artist is involved in discussing progress, looking at proofs, selecting colours and once a final proof is printed, signing off that the edition of prints can be created.

Alastair Clark said about the process of collaborating with Nadia Myre, "The playful, open ended way Nadia works was really refreshing. Nadia is pretty fluent with mixing all sorts of processes and is not precious or pre-determined about how she explores and plays with marks and images. The final prints have an elusive combination of control and chaos, much like the playful way the collaboration worked out."

Tessa Lynch: Houses Fit For People runs until 18 September in Gallery 1.
Nadia Myre: Tell Me of Your Boats and Your Waters- Where Do They Come From, Where Do They Go? runs until 18 September in Gallery 2 and on Union Canal.
