Join Edinburgh Printmakers for this very special partnership event with Scottish National Gallery of Modern Art.
Artist Imi Maufe and Librarian Kerry Watson will give insights into a specially-curated collection of artist book from the archives of the Scottish National Gallery of Modern Art. Imi Maufe will also show a small selection of printed matter from her own collection.
During this unique event, participants will have the opportunity to handle and experience beautiful and unique artist books that explore themes that have inspired the solo exhibition Translating Travels, currently on show at Edinburgh Printmakers.
This is an informal discussion to explore how artists use the notion of travel in book formats, intimately experience precious art objects, and discuss with Imi Maufe how she employs these techniques and theories within her practice.
Artists whose work we will discuss include Roland Penrose, Richard Long, Edward Ruscha, Ian McKeener, Charles Avery, Hamish Fulton and Herman de Vries.
Places on this event are very limited, with only 10 places available. Book your tickets here, and we ask that if your plans change, please cancel your ticket so that another interested party may take your place.
Following our time in the archives, your ticket price includes lunch in the cafe at the Scottish National Gallery of Modern art, where we can continue our discussions. Please make us aware of any dietary requirements or access needs you have on the booking form.
