Edinburgh Printmakers – Programme Intern
Work pattern: 2 days a week, may include some weekends and some evenings.
Duration: 6 months in total, with an initial 3-month review period
Edinburgh Printmakers are looking for an enthusiastic and friendly volunteer with a can-do
attitude to join our dynamic gallery team as a Programme Intern.
The voluntary Programme Internship will give volunteers the opportunity to learn and develop
skills in gallery administration, exhibition and event co-ordination, and art handling. We aim to
provide our interns with a solid understanding of what it means to work within a public arts
organisation and the contemporary arts market through thorough training and plenty of support
during their time with us.
This internship is designed to give successful candidates the opportunity to learn about, and
develop within, the working structure of a busy art gallery and studio and give you an
understanding of the mechanics of delivering a captivating programme of exhibitions and events.
The successful candidates will be supported by the Programme Co-ordinator, who will enable them
to experience an in-depth look into the running of the gallery’s artistic programme. If you are
interested in the arts, this is a great place to gain valuable experience and work with a fantastic
team in one of the largest printmaking studios in Europe.
Through working with volunteers’ own strengths and interests, this internship is designed to
equip recent graduates interested in the visual arts sector with the tools that they need to
make decisions about, and pursue, their future career choices.
Is a non-paid role, but we can offer £32 a month for travel as well as the opportunity to take
part in Edinburgh Printmakers’ vast array of printmaking courses. After your internship, you will
be entitled to 3 Months studio membership and 10 free printmaking sessions dependent upon
your printmaking experience.
For more details please contact Judith Liddle at firstname.lastname@example.org, quoting
‘Programme Intern’ in the subject line.
Deadline: 10am on Tuesday 1st November 2016
